Trailer:

The third movie of this movie franchise placed Detective Ma on a new team with totally new team members. While it was refreshing to see a new face, I still feel like it could be nice to have the same people. But then, I could see how it will limit the storyline of a new crime.

Anyway, this time, Det. Ma faced a crime involving the new drugs; Hiper which were smuggled into the country and had resulted into deaths. He had to figure out the connection of the drug that was identified as belonging to the Japanese yakuza and an unknown partner in South Korea. Unlike the other two earlier movies, this time there was an element of surprise regarding the identity of Joo Sung Cheol. I'll admit, I did not see that one coming. It was both shocking and exciting. It also adds so much tension to the movie.

As per the earlier movies, this one was also packed with action scenes that made me restless and on edge. I love every second of this and with the appearance of the Japanese hitmen, Ricky, my adrenaline went through the roof. There is this beautifully choreographed action scene with the swords and I am loving every second of it.

I'll admit I haven't watch much of Lee Jun Hyuk's work but as far as I had, he was always the good guy so it was really interesting watching him play a villain. I love how he portrays the villain as someone between the good and bad. I hope he will consider this kind of character in his future work because it suits him well.

Although I enjoyed the movie, I keep waiting for Det. Ma to be defeated. Or stabbed, at least. The man went through three movies but he was only sliced through. And it wasn't all that bad, too. Kind of unrealistic considering how big he is and that sword still had no business touching his skin lol. Aside from that, I am very satisfied with this movie.
