Layla has resumed her school life and figure skating lessons, settling back into the routine of everyday life. A new neighbour moves in next door, igniting a friendship that brightens her days. Just when everything seems to fall into place, Verglas beckons.
In the kingdom of ice and snow, turmoil brews. Negotiations with the Frosts stall, while the Settlers stir up trouble. Juggling her ordinary life with her duties as a Warrior, Layla strives to restore peace.
But, when a complication arises, traping Layla between two worlds, she faces an impossible choice. Should she save the kingdom for the greater good? Or should she selfishly rescue a friend before he perishes?
Everyone who had read this probably had the same reaction as I; why? WHY? WHY?!!
After the victory brought to Verglas, Layla resumed her life as a normal teenager, this time with a better relationship with her parents. And once more, Layla found herself back in Verglas. There was trouble brewing from the Settlers and the Frosts' side and Queen Cayra had no choice but to ask for assistance from Layla. And so, another unexpected problem arose for them.
This time, the author brought us more of Layla's hometown instead of Verglas, which is a little disappointing to me. But then I love the friendship blossoming between Layla, Bam and Wonu, Layla's new neighbor. Although I was a bit weirded out by Layla's sudden hostility toward Wonu. It really came out of nowhere and I am glad her dislike changed over time. Although, Bam is still my favorite character. I absolutely fall for his giddiness to experience new things.
As far as the conflict in Verglas, I think it was pretty much the same as the previous book. Verglas had troubled, Queen Cayra had to ask for Layla's help and Layla once again saved the day. But this time, with a price. And that price was so expensive that I am mad with Queen Cayra as she did nothing to idk maybe bargain and fix it??? I really bawled my eyes out. The ending was not something I expected and it broke me.
