He wanted Loretta to 'help' him in discovering the ancient city's lost treasure, just like in her latest book. Alan, Loretta's books' cover model, accidentally witness the kidnapping and went to rescue her to prove than he can be a hero in the real life and not just on the pages of her books.

Trailer:

I had my eyes on this movie from the moment I watch its trailer which was on the day I came across it (in another words, I don't remember when). Anyway, this movie doesn't really impressed me but that doesn't mean I don't enjoyed it because I did.

I am not impressed because the plot is pretty much predictable and the romance between the Loretta and Alan was... not there, at all. Heck, Loretta and Jack makes much more sense to me. I enjoyed the movie thoroughly because of the comedy it had. Even though those were pretty much just mediocre but the situational jokes were quite okay for me.

It is a nice story and an even nicer casts. As I said, I enjoyed the movie and for me, it is very much entertaining and stupidly funny. I really really loves the fact that when they finally found the crown, it is not like any other adventure, treasure hunting movies with shining diamonds and sparkling gems. I definitely enjoyed the demise of that Fairfax guy. Sandra and Channing really shines in this movie, maybe because this is their elements but for Daniel, it kind of awkward seeing him as a bad guy. Maybe its on the dialogues not his acting per se. I am not an expert to tell. But yeah,  him as a villain is a bit meh for me. And of course, the cameo from Brad Pitt is just *chef kiss

Final warning (if you're lazy to check the PG rating), there's nudity and a quite age inappropriate scene so I don't think it is suitable to watch with the kids. And lastly, stay for post credit!
